 Pre-AP Biology Scavenger Hunt

Web Quest

 

Introduction

Scavenger hunts are exciting…you never know what treasures you might find!  A Biology Scavenger Hunt will be your science project this six weeks.  See how many items you can find and how many points you can accumulate!

 

Task

You will be utilizing a variety of information sources in order to identify items on the Biology Scavenger Hunt list.  As soon as you find each item, bring it to class for approval.

 

Process

Review the following list of items and the point value for each item.

Mrs. Bridge will keep a running total of your points on a log in the classroom.  You should also keep track of your own points.  She will keep the items turned in until the project is over.  Live items will be set free as soon as the points are recorded.  If you do not want the items, they will become a part of the Science Department collections. All other items will be returned to students when the project is completed.

Evaluation

This project counts as a major test grade.  The following lists the number of points needed for each grade.  There are 440 points available on the scavenger hunt.  You only need 250 for a grade of 100.  You are not required to get all the items, just enough to total 250 points, or the grade on the grading scale.

Conclusion

After the completion of this project, you should have a basic understanding of biology terms and be able to find similar information in your texts and other science related sources.
